New Policy Regarding Free E-mail Addresses
As many of you no doubt know, NarniaMUCK has long held to a strict 'no non-free E-mail' policy with regard to new character registrations. This policy was originally enacted when the game still 'lived' in Denmark, as Danish law required it. The game has since moved to the USA, but we've elected to keep the policy because it keeps our players safer and cuts down on headaches for us. Free-E-mail providers enable users to change identities too easily, whereas paid E-mail accounts are tied to someone specific.
We are aware, though, that many younger Narnia fans only have access to Yahoo!, Gmail, and Hotmail for their E-mail use. Therefore, beginning in January, 2008, we are introducing a slight revision to our previous policy.
Going forward, we will accept new players with free E-mail addresses IF a current player is willing to vouch for them. This will be addressed on a case-by-case basis, with the staff's best judgment prevailing. At this time, only players who registered with non-Free accounts can vouch for someone else.
The new In-game request system will not accept free E-mail addresses. If you are a current player wishing to vouch for a free-account bearing friend, please page the staff and we'll explain how to handle the request.
We hope to welcome some fun new people! Looking forward to meeting you all!
