My real life lately has been a quintessential comedy of errors. I've never seen so much up-and-down with anything as what I've been through lately, and the fallout is that I've not been on the game as much as I'd like.  Fortunately, I'm pretty sure things are stabilizing now (God willing!), so hopefully that's over and done with. It's interesting to me just how dead the MUCK gets between late Fall and Christmas, and then how it comes back to life in January.  Players we've not seen in months suddenly resurface out of nowhere, work gets done that's been sitting on the back burner for time out of mind.  There's something vaguely appropriate about that.

Well, I'm now through February and beginning March. Must treaspass on your patience a little longer with this. At least now the hard work is done (read: programming); all that remains is the busy work of putting everyone's names in.

Well, the calendar has been uninstalled and replaced, and now look at it.. Isn't it pretty? Not bad for a day spent up to my ears in CSS and PHP and other three-letter acronyms that are less appropriate for mixed company. Read more »

Character Birthdays

Awhile back I had this brilliant idea. I thought, "What if we all considered our characters' creation date to be their birthday? Not, of course, that everyone needed to play a newborn from the moment they arrived, obviously, but we'd just assume that whatever day of the year they arrived would be their annual birthday, regardless of the reported age of the character.
